Asian Poker Tour announce first tournament
October 9, 2008
The first event of the APT is to take place between January and February in the Dusit Thani MAila Hotel in Makati which is in the Philippines.
The APT plan to host 4 major events in 2009 and if they are as big as they were last year then the players are in for a treat. Last year’s competitions had prize pots of up to $1.5 million and with the buy in for the first event in January being $2,500 then we could be set for an even higher one this year.
‘The APT has already held two major events this year, APT Philippines and APT Macau,” said Chris Parker, Chief Executive Officer for the APT.
“After consultation with players, online partners and sponsors a comprehensive schedule is now being planned for 2009 to successfully meet the needs of all concerned. We are looking forward to enhancing poker’s presence in Asia.’
